CMU president to faculty: "Shame on you for not teaching"

"Shame on you for not teaching." Those are the words of Central Michigan University President George E. Ross to the faculty members who did not teach Monday morning in response to unresolved contract negotiations. Ross said in a Monday morning press conference he is extremely disappointed by the strike, called a work stoppage by the Faculty Association, taken on the first day of the fall semester. Despite meetings since April, the administration and 600-member faculty association have not been able to agree on money matters in a contract.
