Central Michigan (9-12) was only able to plate runs in one inning Tuesday against Northwood, but four in the bottom of the first were enough to capture a 4-3 win for the Chippewas. Beaverton’s Ryan Longstreth came on in relief for CMU and no-hit the Timberwolves over two innings to end the Northwood threat. Longstreth had two strikeouts, while former Essexville Garber standout Randon Henika pinch hit for CMU and registered a walk. Jake Oard (Beaverton) and Tyler Beatty (Clare) combined to go 0-for-5 for Northwood, which suffered its second loss of the season and moves to 9-2 overall.
