The admission process for future Central Michigan University College of Medicine students is underway. CMU on Wednesday opened online admissions through the American Association of Medical Colleges. The $30 million school is scheduled to accept its first class of 60 students in 2013, eventually growing to a class of 100 students. “Our curriculum will be focused on addressing the growing need for physicians nationally and regionally, particularly in small towns and rural communities,” said Ernie Yoder, College of Medicine dean in a statement. “We will prepare students to practice patient-centered health care and focus on the health problems most prevalent in mid- and northern Michigan.”
