Johnson Snatches Player of the Week Honors
Sophomore Taylor Johnson was named Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week on Monday, her second time being honored this season. The Belding, Mich., native assisted the Chippewas to a 2-0 record last week, with wins over Northern Illinois, 73-50, and Western Michigan, 66-53. She finished the week averaging 17.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds, both well above her season averages of 8.2 points and 5.2 rebounds. She recorded her third double-double on the season against the Huskies with a season-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. She also finished the game 6-for-8 from behind the arc to tie her personal best. Against the Broncos, Johnson had 15 points while recording a season-high four steals.
