Mount Pleasant Police arrested a suspect in connection with a gasoline theft Monday. Officers were sent to the Speedway gas station at 201 S. Mission St., where clerks reported a person had pumped more than $40 worth of gasoline into a white SUV and left without paying. With the help of the clerk and another witness, police identified the suspect. Police also learned the same suspect and vehicle were involved in a second theft of gas, this time at the Citgo station at 910 W. Pickard. The theft was caught on video, and officers immediately attempted to locate the suspect so other businesses would not also become victims.
