CMU awarded $800,000 grant


Central Michigan University has been awarded an $800,000 grant from the Kresge Foundation. The grant, designed to recognize exemplary projects undertaken by a university, completes the CMU Education and Human Services building's fundraising goal of $7.5 million.
Interim dean Kathy Koch says she couldn't be more excited in achieving the milestone. Koch says the grant helps to provide a more solid education for the students in CMU's education and human services' programs.
Koch believes the $50 million LEED-certified building provides a more "intimate environment" for faculty and students to work in together, which helps students become more invested in what they are learning.
